The minerals and trace elements in the product Elemental Chromium occur as electrolytes in dissolved and ionic form. That is, not in combination with other elements, but as individual electrically charged particles. Magnesium chloride (MgCl2), for example, is split into the ions Mg2+ (positively charged magnesium) and Cl- (negatively charged chloride) when dissolved in water. Minerals also occur in our body in this way, dissolved in intra- and extracellular fluids such as blood plasma. Minerals in ionic form are therefore easy to absorb.

About Chromium and its Health Effects
Chromium contributes to the maintenance of normal blood sugar levels and is important for carbohydrate, protein and fat metabolism by supporting insulin action. Insulin is produced in the pancreas and released into the bloodstream when there is a risk of blood sugar levels becoming too high, for example after eating carbohydrates. It opens insulin-sensitive cells (muscle, liver and fat cells) to glucose by binding to insulin receptors. Insulin-sensitive tissues store excess glucose for later use in the form of glycogen and (especially) fats. Ideally, blood sugar levels should fluctuate little and insulin release should not be higher than absolutely necessary. Foods rich in simple sugars increase the excretion of chromium.
