Additional Information

Both FAD and FADH2 are made in the cells as soon as vitamin B2 (riboflavin) reaches the small intestine, so anyone with a good diet can make FAD and FADH2 themselves, so we recommend riboflavin 5 phosphate.

In the event of a poor diet, we recommend taking a multivitamin (Nutrimax) in conjunction with Riboflavin 5 Phosphate to ensure that all cofactors for absorption are present.

Vitamin B2 is one of the 8 water-soluble B vitamins and cannot be stored by the body. Riboflavin is destroyed by light and heat as well as in an alkaline environment. It is absorbed in the upper part of the small intestine, increased with food and delayed on an empty stomach. In the case of gallbladder or liver diseases, there is a reduced absorption and are associated with a reduced intake of meat and dairy products through the diet.
